On Sunday, 7 April 2019, at night at 3:42, in Kaunas, on Jonavos street, at the junction with Jurbarko street, a BMW hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. Two people were injured — a 31-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 29-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the BMW (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
