Hit-and-run Nissan driver in crash with Volvo bus at Kalvarijų g. and Žalgirio g., Vilnius
On Friday, 19 April 2019, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Vilnius, on Kalvarijų street, at the junction with Žalgirio street, a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a Volvo 7700A and a Nissan Juke. Two people were injured — a 56-year-old passenger of the Volvo (hospitalized) and a 80-year-old passenger of the Volvo (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Nissan (5 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. A 56-year-old passenger of the Volvo was drunk (0.30‰). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
