On Wednesday, 8 May 2019, in the evening at 19:15, in Tauragės district municipality, on J. Tumo-Vaižganto street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Master and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Renault (40 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
