On Monday, 3 June 2019, in the evening at 19:35, in Molėtų district municipality, on the Molėtai–Pabradė national road (kilometre 27), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Polo, a KIA Motors Sorento and a bicycle. One person was injured — a 53-year-old cyclist (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. She had no driving licence and fled the scene. All drivers were sober.
