On Tuesday, 18 June 2019, in the afternoon at 14:10, in Šakių district municipality, on V. Kudirkos street near No. 66, a collision with a bicycle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Meriva - A and a bicycle. One person was injured — a 39-year-old cyclist (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Opel (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
