On Tuesday, 18 June 2019, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on Varpo street near No. 10, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW X5 and a Ford Focus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the BMW (38 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
