On Saturday, 13 July 2019, in the afternoon at 13:23, in Kėdainių district municipality, Kalnaberžės village, on the Kėdainiai–Krekenava–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 10.88), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Komatsu PC 210LC- 8. One person died — a 54-year-old passenger of the BMW (later died from the injuries). Three people were injured — the 38-year-old driver of the BMW (severely injured, hospitalized), a 49-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized) and a 36-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the BMW (13 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.47‰ blood alcohol). The 32-year-old driver of the Komatsu was drunk (0.60‰). A 54-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (0.99‰). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 55 km/h.
