On Saturday, 27 July 2019, in the morning at 8:43, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 62.20), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Saab 9-5, a Volkswagen Passat and an Audi A4. Four people were injured — the 58-year-old driver of the Audi (severely injured, hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt), a 55-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt), a 63-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized) and the 64-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Saab (4 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
