On Monday, 5 August 2019, in the evening at 20:10, in Zarasų district municipality, on P. Širvio street near No. 14, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW Serie 5, a Skoda and an Audi A3. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.92‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
