On Wednesday, 14 August 2019, in the evening at 18:50, in Kaunas, on Šv. Gertrūdos street near No. 22, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Volkswagen NEW Beetle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
