On Friday, 23 August 2019, at night at 23:42, in Šiauliai, on Vasario 16-osios street, at the junction with Vytauto street, a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved a Saab 9-5 and a Gilera. Two people were injured — a 14-year-old passenger of the Gilera (treated as an outpatient) and the 15-year-old driver of the Gilera (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Saab (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
