On Sunday, 1 September 2019, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Lazdijų district municipality, Metelių village, on the Seirijai–Simnas–Igliauka national road (kilometre 9), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a vehicle and a Mazda. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene.
