On Thursday, 5 September 2019, in the afternoon at 14:20, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 99.70), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FL617, a Schwarzmuller, a Seat Altea XL, a Mercedes-Benz 1846 and a Koegel SNCS24. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Volvo (14 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
