On Monday, 9 September 2019, in the morning at around 6:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, on L. Ivinskio street near No. 3, in a yard, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Citroen C3. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 80-year-old driver of the Opel (50 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
