On Friday, 27 September 2019, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a car and a Ford Focus. Two people were injured — the 83-year-old driver of a car (treated as an outpatient) and the 81-year-old driver of the Ford (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 83-year-old driver of a car (40 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober.
