On Saturday, 28 September 2019, in the evening at 18:37, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 258), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Yaris and a Volvo XC70. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Toyota (33 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (0.93‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene.
