On Thursday, 10 October 2019, in the evening at 20:45, in Lazdijų district municipality, on Nepriklausomybės a., at the junction with Kauno street, an Audi A6 Avant ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Audi, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.70‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 25-year-old passenger of the Audi was drunk (2.59‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
