On Sunday, 17 November 2019, in the evening at 18:07, in Plungės district municipality, on J. Tumo-Vaižganto street near No. 87A, at the junction with Žaltakalnio street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW, a Ford Focus and a Peugeot 407. Three people were injured — a 42-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (treated as an outpatient), the 39-year-old driver of the Peugeot (treated as an outpatient) and a 34-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.12‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
