On Saturday, 7 December 2019, in the afternoon at 15:23, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Biržai–Raubonys national road (kilometre 14.20), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat, a Renault Laguna and a Peugeot 308 registered in Latvia. Four people were injured — the 35-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (hospitalized), a 34-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (hospitalized), a 8-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized) and the 34-year-old driver of the Peugeot (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
