On Saturday, 21 December 2019, at night at 23:15, in Biržų district municipality, on Astravo street, a BMW ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (4 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.91‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. A 25-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.23‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
