On Wednesday, 1 January 2020, in the morning at 7:19, in Klaipėda, on Nidos street near No. 56, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Hyundai i 10, a Volkswagen Golf, a Peugeot 407, an Opel Vivaro, a Mercedes-Benz E 200 CDI and a Mercedes-Benz E 350 CDI. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Hyundai, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.17‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
