On Thursday, 2 January 2020, in the morning at 7:40, in Joniškio district municipality, on Žemaičių street near No. 50, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW 730 and an Audi. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the BMW. He was drunk (1.77‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
