On Monday, 6 January 2020, in the morning at around 8:00, in Šiauliai, on Aušros al., at the junction with Tilžės street, a Toyota Yaris hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 52-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Toyota (15 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
