On Friday, 24 January 2020, in the evening at 19:02, in Jonavos district municipality, on Žeimių street near No. 13, a Mazda Premacy hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 18-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 18-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 72-year-old driver of the Mazda (34 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
