On Sunday, 26 January 2020, in the afternoon at 16:50, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Rumšiškės–Tadarava national road (kilometre 5.42), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra, a Volkswagen Passat and a Volkswagen Passat. Five people were injured — the 43-year-old driver of the Opel (hospitalized), the 44-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat (hospitalized), a 45-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Passat (hospitalized), a 69-year-old passenger of the Opel (hospitalized) and a 47-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Passat (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to keep a safe distance. He refused a sobriety test and had no driving licence.
