On Sunday, 26 January 2020, in the afternoon at 16:50, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Rumšiškės–Tadarava national road (kilometre 5.42), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra, a Volkswagen Passat and a Volkswagen Passat. Five people were injured — the 43-year-old driver of the Opel (hospitalized), the 44-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat (hospitalized), a 45-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Passat (hospitalized), a 69-year-old passenger of the Opel (hospitalized) and a 47-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Passat (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to keep a safe distance. He refused a sobriety test and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
