On Thursday, 30 January 2020, in the evening at 22:30, in Mažeikių district municipality, on M. Daukšos street near No. 52, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A3 and a Toyota Avensis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.43‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
