On Monday, 10 February 2020, in the afternoon at 16:40, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 99.74), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the DAF XF 95.430 (5 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
