On Friday, 21 February 2020, in the evening at 22:20, in Kauno district municipality, on the Raudondvaris–Naujieji Bernatoniai–Žemaitkiemis regional road (kilometre 2), a BMW ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.22‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
