On Friday, 28 February 2020, in the afternoon at 11:50, in Utenos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Utena main road (kilometre 86.95), a Volvo FH12 registered in Russia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volvo (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet.
