On Monday, 2 March 2020, in the evening at 19:30, in Kaunas, on Šv. Gertrūdos street, at the junction with Šauklių street, a BMW 320D hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 16-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the BMW (12 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
