On Thursday, 26 March 2020, in the evening at 18:49, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr. near No. 21, a BMW Serie 5 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person died — a 78-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the BMW (15 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk (1.69‰ blood alcohol).
