On Monday, 30 March 2020, in the evening at around 20:00, in Joniškio district municipality, on the Joniškis–Žagarė–Naujoji Akmenė national road (kilometre 2.50), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus and a Subaru Impreza. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Ford (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
