On Sunday, 12 April 2020, in the evening at around 18:00, in Klaipėda, on Panevėžio street near No. 25C, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo XC70 registered in Sweden and a Renault Trafic. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.40‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
