On Tuesday, 28 April 2020, in the evening at around 19:00, in Šakių district municipality, Lekėčių town, on Draugystės street, an Audi 8D, Audi A4, -S4 rolled over. Two people were injured — a 43-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 39-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.72‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
