On Thursday, 14 May 2020, in the evening at 22:20, in Kaunas, on Šiaurės pr. near No. 1A, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 XD and an Audi registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the BMW (14 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.83‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
