On Monday, 18 May 2020, in the evening at 20:45, in Kaunas, on Jonavos street, at the junction with Islandijos pl., a BMW hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the BMW (16 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.39‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
