On Saturday, 23 May 2020, at night at 23:39, in Biržų district municipality, on Respublikos street, at the junction with Vabalninko street, a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.01‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
