On Sunday, 7 June 2020, at night at 1:15, in Ignalinos district municipality, Bėčiūnų village, on the Vilnius-Švenčionys-Zarasai national road (kilometre 106), a collision with barriers occurred. The accident involved a BMW 3ER Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (6 years of driving experience). He was drunk (1.89‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
