On Wednesday, 10 June 2020, in the afternoon at 12:40, in Klaipėda, on Kūlių Vartų street near No. 3, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Signum and a Skoda Superb. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (3.88‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
