On Saturday, 13 June 2020, in the morning at 10:39, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 290.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 D registered in Latvia and a Honda. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.97‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
