On Tuesday, 16 June 2020, in the evening at 18:20, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilijampolė–Žeimiai–Šėta national road (kilometre 12.20), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW 330 and a Toyota Corolla. Two people were injured — a 19-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and the 26-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
