On Wednesday, 24 June 2020, in the evening at 17:05, in Šiauliai, on J. Basanavičiaus street near No. 43A, a Chrysler hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Chrysler (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (2.40‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
