On Wednesday, 24 June 2020, in the evening at 21:30, in Panevėžys, on Amerikos street, at the junction with Aguonų street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V70 and a VAN Hool A120. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (2.60‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
