On Wednesday, 24 June 2020, in the morning at 9:10, in Kauno district municipality, Naujatriobių village, on Šaltinio street near No. 2, a Volvo FM hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 51-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Volvo (26 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
