On Sunday, 5 July 2020, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Antakalnis–Jieznas–Alytus–Merkinė national road (kilometre 69.10), a DAF FT XF105.460 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the DAF (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
