On Wednesday, 8 July 2020, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on K. Donelaičio street, at the junction with A. Mickevičiaus street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Solaris Urbino 12 and a Toyota Auris. One person was injured — a 24-year-old passenger of the Solaris (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 66-year-old driver of the Solaris (45 years of driving experience), who failed to obey traffic-control signals. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
