On Thursday, 16 July 2020, in the afternoon at 14:12, in Palanga, on Klaipėdos pl. near No. 39, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Multivan, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a Seat and a trailer/semi-trailer 0.75–3.5 t. Three people were injured — a 0-year-old passenger of the Seat (treated as an outpatient), a 12-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 35-year-old passenger of the Seat (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
