On Wednesday, 22 July 2020, in the morning at 7:30, in Kaunas, on Baltijos street, at the junction with Prūsų street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 D, a Mazda 5 and a Skoda Octavia. Two people were injured — a 33-year-old passenger of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient) and the 31-year-old driver of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the BMW (23 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. All drivers were sober.
