On Friday, 24 July 2020, at night at 0:30, in Jurbarko district municipality, Pašvenčio village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 96.15), an Audi A8 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Audi (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
