On Sunday, 2 August 2020, in the evening at 19:16, in Radviliškio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 48.95), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a DAF FT XF105, a Skoda Octavia and a Koegel SN 24. Two people died — a 46-year-old passenger of the Skoda and the 53-year-old driver of the Skoda. Three people were injured — the 59-year-old driver of the DAF (hospitalized), a 13-year-old passenger of the Skoda (hospitalized) and a 16-year-old passenger of the Skoda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the DAF (19 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
